Author James Barclay aged 86 passed away on 24th March. James was the author of a number of books which were turned into successful Plays on stage. Paras over the Barras was one of them, telling the story of his upbringing in the Bridgeton area of Glasgow. He also translated the Gospel into the broad scots language. From our archive we hear an interview Hugh Gray carried out in September 1995.
Sonoma Film Festival
Now in the 22nd year, the Sonoma International Film Festival (March 27 - 31, 2019) took place in the heart of Northern California's Wine Country and featured more than 90 hand-selected films including independent features, documentaries, world cinema and short films. All films were shown at intimate venues within walking distance of Sonoma's historic plaza. The Festival is dedicated to promoting independent film, supporting filmmakers around the world and inspiring film lovers. Our John Cavanagh has recorded character voices for some of the animated presentations. John attended the Festival and he gives his report and talks to Keith English and Karin Collinson.
